Let us now endeavour to look at the patterns formed by the natal chart on the 90-degree dial. These patterns give a guide to our future potential in accordance with psychological principles.
Doris Greaves has always said, if the potential is not in the natal chart it will not happen. Even though we will not cover the Vertex or Neptune translations in this beginner’s lesson, we do see that it is strongly placed next to Neptune in Paul Newman chart.
The Vertex has been researched for many by the Regulus Ebertin Study Group here in Australia, led by Doris Greaves and later by myself. My interpretation of this angle is the external world relating to our internal world.
In other words it is like looking in the mirror and seeing what is happening externally and how we are viewing it internally. In her book, “Cosmobiology into the 21st Century” in the chapter devoted to The Vertex Doris says that the Vertex = Neptune is often found in the horoscopes of actors, artists and musicians.
Also, even though we are not studying the Moon’s Node in this lesson, we can see that it is strongly placed next to Saturn. This can indicates family responsibility and sadness surrounding family members but on the positive side we see stability and success earned through hard work. It also has to do with drive and ambition and a responsibility to the public.
The position of Jupiter is of special importance for success in any occupation and in the chart of Paul Newman we see that it is positioned very close to Pluto/Ascendant/Mercury/Venus which is a very powerful combination to have in one’s natal chart. It bestows luck, the gift of oration, the ability to influence many people, giving ones love to many, creative powers and attainment of leadership.
Here we see the potential in Paul Newman’s natal chart for great success and if fate had not have stepped in, he may never have been able to reach his full potential. In an article in “The Sunday Age” a Melbourne Newspaper, dated 3rd May 1998, journalist Jeff Dawson had this to say,
“Had the second World war not dragged him off to the Pacific for three years where he was a radio operator on US Navy torpedo planes, he was destined to take over the family firm in Cleveland, Ohio. College acting classes diverted his attentions on discharge, though even when he got to Yale, his aim was only ever to become a drama teacher.”
Students should now begin to see how effective this method is for analysing a personality and assessing life’s events and all this in the first lesson. Cosmobiology is a very powerful tool for self- improvement. It tells it like it is.
There are several tools that Cosmobiologist’s layer onto the 90-degree dial to enable them to spot future trends, both positive and negative. As we move through the lessons you will be able to see how the jigsaw fits together.
It takes many years of study and analysing charts to be able to get to the heart and soul of the personality so don’t expect to get it right the first time. Remember, practice, practice, and practise. It is like learning to play the piano. Even though we take lessons we must still practise the piano each day to be good at it.
