On April 28th, 2006 in Beaconsfield, Tasmania three men became trapped in a mine, nearly 1000 Metres underground from what was thought to be a minor earthquake, which triggered a rock fall. At the time 17 men were underground.
Fourteen men escaped and three were listed as missing. After three days, the body of Australian Tasmanian miner Larry Knight was found and then mercifully, two days later, the other two miners, Brant Webb and Tod Russell were located alive. However, it was not until Tuesday 9th May, two weeks after the accident, that they were brought to the surface. (see previous article)

However, it was not until Tuesday 9th May, two weeks after the accident, that they were brought to the surface. (see previous article)
On the same day that the two miners came to the surface, the body of Larry Knight was laid to rest nearby, in the city of Launceston. Larry Knight was born of the 30th September, 1961. He had the Sun (ego) in the sign of Libra and the Moon (emotions) in the sign of Gemini.
With Mars, planet of energy and courage, also in the sign of Libra, he was one of those rare individuals that lived up to the limits of his capabilities, all talents finding expression. Not much has been written in the media about his personality but from an astrological viewpoint he was a very nice person. Active and sociable he was considerate and thoughtful. With both the Sun and Mars in the sign of Libra, relationships were important. Libra is ruled by Venus, the Goddess of love so it was very important to find the right partner and this he did in his wife Jacqui of more than 20 years.
They had three children, Lauren, 19, Addison, 10 and Thomas, nine months. To see why this man had to die in this extraordinary chain of events, we need to look to the patterns that the horoscope makes and here we have three that are very distinct. Mars/Jupiter, gives the urge for activity and the power to concentrate upon a particular aim or objective in life. To become a miner does indeed need a great deal of concentration. Experiences shared in life, comes through the Uranus/Node pattern but the most obvious pattern is Venus=Pluto, which goes across the dial to the natal Saturn.
This is a very karmic pattern that comes into play when one is in danger of being involved in a natural catastrophe. It also can indicate a great loss and being cheated out of success in one’s work. As I have said before, using the Ebertin method, the Solar Arc becomes a powerful tool as to where we are in each year of our life. In the case of Larry Knight he was nearing his 45th birthday and this in fact means the solar arc patterns repeat themselves across the dial. Here we see a treble of this very karmic pattern.
First of all it is viewed in the natal chart, then we see at his age of 45 years it becomes activated by the Pluto/Venus=Saturn on the cardinal side and the Saturn triggering the Pluto/Venus on the mutable side, playing out in the loss of his life in a natural catastrophe. Also on the third wheel which shows the progressed horoscope, we see that the Sun has come to the Moon’s Node which does indicate a very public life and in this case a very public death.
With the help of our pointer we see that the transiting Mars on the night of the accident it was linking into this very public pattern and also linking into both of the Saturn/Pluto aspects. Karl Marx once said, “Men make their own history, but they do not make it just as they please, they do not make it under circumstances chosen by themselves, but under circumstances directly found, given and transmitted from the past.” Larry Knight had all the honours of hero status bestowed on him at his funeral service.
The service was run by the God Squad Christian Motor-cycle Club and several hundred people turned up to say farewell. So; in the consciousness of work well done and a life well lived, to the man dubbed, “as happy as Larry,” we say goodbye. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (From the parable of talents,) Matthew 25:21 (Source of birth data – New Idea 20/5/2006)
